Create Smtp Server Ubuntu Use Postfix




This time I will give sedikti my knowledge to all of you: how to create an smtp server in Ubuntu using a simple postfix for smtp server, the functionality of the smtp server to send email is commonly in use as backup mx for relay and if there are any other smtp that accidentally got black list by spamhouse or more and can be relayed to the smtp2 that later we will create it. We make direct smtp server using postfix using rhel 6.4.

For example server summary
OS : Redhat enterprise 6.4
IP Address : 192.168.8.11/24
Hostname: smtp.example.net

setting nano "/etc/hosts" by way of entering the following commands on your linux terminal
192.168.8.11   smtp.example.net  smtp



remove mta sendmail by way of entering the following commands on your linux terminal
# yum remove sendmail

Disabled selinux by way of entering the following commands on your linux terminal
# togglesebool httpd_can_network_connect
 
Turn off server iptables by way of entering the following commands on your linux terminal
# service iptables stop
# chkconfig iptables off
 
and then install the Package Postfix by way of entering the following commands on your linux terminal
# yum install postfix -y

Next you need to postfix Configuration
Nano /etc/postfix/main.cf. Note the commands below:

# In Line no 75 - Uncomment and set your mail server #
myhostname = smtp.example.net

# In Line 83 - Uncomment and Set domain name #
mydomain = example.net

# In Line 99 - Uncomment #
myorigin = $mydomain

# In Line 116 - Set ipv4 #
inet_interfaces = all

# In Line 119 - Change to all #
inet_protocols = all

# In Line 164 - Comment #
#mydestination = $myhostname, localhost.$mydomain, localhost,

# In Line 165 - Uncomment #\
mydestination = $myhostname, localhost.$mydomain, localhost, $mydomain

# In Line 264 - Uncomment and add IP range #
mynetworks = 192.168.0.0/24, 127.0.0.0/8

# In Line 419 - Uncomment #
home_mailbox = Maildir/

Then please Restart the Postfix Service by way of entering the following commands on your linux terminal
# service postfix restart
# chkconfig postfix on
