To protect from security vulnerabilities, you should do a patch on your server on a regular basis. Cultivate the habit of doing this easily can save you from grief and hassle in the future.

Managed Hosting package customers and Assisted Service Pack do not have to do their own server patch.

Patch Your server process depends on what operating system Your server used:



Fedora or Cent OS
  • Connect to your server via SSH
  • Change to the root user
  • Run the following command:
  • yum clean all
  • yum update
Ubuntu
  • Connect to your server via SSH.
  • Switch to user root.
  • Run the following command:
  • apt-get upgrade
Windows Server
  • Connect to your server via RDC.
  • From the start menu, select Control Panel.
  • Click Windows Update.
  • Click check for updates, and then follow the steps to update your server.
