How Do I Shutdown And Restart With The Terminal?
1. Open a Terminal/Console
2. Type the command that you want to use, you can see his commands below.



Shutdown

Shutdown with the Terminal
sudo shutdown -h now

Auto shutdown in a certain time with Terminal
sudo shutdown -h +5
does it mean we will shutdown wait 5 minutes

Auto shutdown with the clock set to the Terminal
sudo shutdown -h 10:00
This means that we will be shutdown on a time clock 10:00

Restart

Restart with the Terminal
sudo shutdown -r now

Auto restart in a certain time with Terminal
sudo shutdown -r +5
This means that we will Restart the waiting 5 minutes

Automatic restart with the clock set to the Terminal
sudo shutdown -r 11:10
This means that we will Restart at the time 11:10 hours or at a time when 11 more 10 minutes

Note: to undo the automatic shutdown and restart you can try the 2 ways in which the State of the Terminal has not been in close and already close:
  • If the Terminal is still open, press the Ctrl and C simultaneously
  • If the Terminal is already in close then reopen the Terminal and type
sudo shutdown -c
